Is there anyway of checking if the oil pump is starving? Checking the oil pressure some how? That , I can't tell you my friend . Might want to ask Shortmags on the other site. St8 E started calling him " moped Joe" Hahaha too funny!

Got the bike back he replaced the rear cylinder chain guide and did and oil flush. He also checked the oil pressure and it was well in the range.

I still cannot understand why the piston slap is louder at lower rpm when taking the revs up it completely disappears. I this because the lubrication is increase with more rpm cushioning the piston against the sleeve?

Thats my bike before it got rebuilt! Thats the video I took to show you guys what it sounded like. I found that on Aurora Wheelers & Greg (MR RPM) commented that it sounded like the chain .

How do you think the oil is transferred by squirters like the video? I'll watch it on the computer after work . From the diagram , it looks like one stream ends in the valve covers & the other pressurized stream ends @ the wrist pins .

Let us know how you go when you have a look on your computer. I think the key to solving this is to work out why there a lack of lubrication in that area as you said. That's if lubrication is the problem.
