Good news ! Just got done with the first oil change and no chunks ! The normal cloudiness with tiny flecks of shiny stuff . The BRP XPS oil seemed unusually thin when dropped at operating temperature compared to the 10-40 Mobil 1 synthetic I was using . Maybe there's something to it . They don't list a "weight" on the jug which upsets me a little but I think it's 5-30 .

Give these a shot next time it's time for a plug change . Tim had put these in and I ran it with them 'till now but when I pulled the plugs to roll the engine to get oil pressure and fill the filter cavity I put brand new stock NGK's in and it didn't run as well . I cleaned the Iridiums up and reinstalled , running awesome ! I know everyone says " a spark is a spark " but I'm a believer in these now . www.amazon.com/NGK-DCPR8EIX-Iridium-Spark-Plug/dp/B000CJ8CZY

Good to hear its running well Gene, You should expect to find very little if no metal next time. I to use Iridium plugs but there not NGK.

I've decided to go back to Mobil 1 full synthetic A gallon of the XPS is $ 51.00 plus the filter ( which apparently does nothing ) is another 7 bucks ! That's 1 oil change for almost SIXTY friggin' dollars ! Yes there's a little left over in the gallon but c'mon .

I totally agree, The weight depends on the climatic conditions - 10w 40 for me.

Gene, Hows the Renegade treating you? Stayed quiet? How many miles on it since rebuild? Well she's still got that little flutter at part throttle . Quiet as a church mouse. Roughly 450 / 500 miles and 3 oil changes . I'm probably going to give a third dealer a shot at diagnosing the flutter . I did replace all my A arm bushings and sleeves last week. I grease it every ride regardless of mileage and the bushings had still softened up after around 1500 mi. Maybe the grease is reacting with the material ?

Good to hear,
What material are the bushing made off? Most of the wear probably occurred with the previous owner of the bike. ie didn't grease them ect.

Good to hear, What material are the bushing made off? Most of the wear probably occurred with the previous owner of the bike. ie didn't grease them ect. They're either a very hard rubber or a very soft polyethylene. I changed them out when I got the bike with 1500 miles on it . Now there's 2600 on it and they weren't "worn out" but they were softer than the new ones.
