What do you think about the blind hole? Have a look through his photo bucket his tried everything on piston skirt lubrication.

Yeah haha. Do the griffin pistons have a blind hole in the middle? Or is it an oil control hole?

Also I'm having trouble working out how the piston is lubricated. The crank must throw the oil on the cylinder walls then the piston collects it? If oil was thrown directly into the inside of the pistons then theoretically the oil control holes should deliver oil to the skirt.

If oil was thrown directly into the inside of the pistons then theoretically the oil control holes should deliver oil to the skirt. The oil is pressure fed through the crank & intothe big end of the rod then up the rod into the pin .

So its not splashed. So basically the pins feed oil to the cly wall?

I'm just try to understand how a blind hole will help. It will capture a bit of oil & hold it there & leave a tiny bit behind during the compression stroke where the bottom ring wiped it clean on the intake stroke.
